A fun and utterly unique event that’s part-storytelling, part-confessional and wholly entertaining! Come onstage and celebrate your almost and nearly moments under the expert guidance of your affable host, Alexis Strum. She’s the girl who wrote the book on failure (literally) with her laugh-out-loud memoir, 'The Time I Almost...', charting her abortive attempts to become a popstar, supermodel, movie star and international spy! If you are a budding storyteller, email thetimeialmost@gmail.com with a pitch for your 3 minute story.
You can either read it yourself on the night or we will arrange a reader for you. The best story on the night according to the audience vote will win the 'Almost Oscar'! 20% of all profits from all events go to Women’s Aid.
Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start and the show finishes at 10pm/ 10.15pm.
Running order:
8pm Host Intro and then up to 3 stories from specially selected storytellers.
9pm Short interval
9.15pm Host reads another fab comedy story of her own before another 2-3 storytellers come onstage to tell their stories.
10.00pm Host closing and award presentation
Audience participation is welcomed!
